For well over 25 years Dennis has enjoyed honing his skills as a woodcarver. Over that time he has had the opportunity to participate in many juried competitions. Dennis has received various honors such as Best of Show, People’s Choice, and Carver’s Choice awards. He currently has the honor of judging competitions.

Dennis firmly believes in the promotion of the art of woodcarving with fellow artists and art lovers alike. He spends much of his time teaching seminars and private classes in his home studio and throughout the United States.  He was inducted into the Caricature Carvers of America (CCA) in 2000. In the past he has served as Treasurer and Vice President. Dennis currently has the privilege of being the current President for the CCA. He has appreciated the opportunity to help in the collaboration of the organization’s projects and books. These items help to further promote caricature carving.

His greatest enjoyment comes from watching the reaction his pieces get from the viewing public. Caricature carving is about finding the humor in a situation. Dennis finds excitement in the challenge of creating new pieces that continue to bring smiles and belly laughs. He often pulls ideas from his thirty-two year career in law enforcement as well as from his family. He currently shows his work nationally in galleries, exhibits, and shows.

Dennis lives in Guilford, New York with his wife Susan and has two daughters. All are accomplished artists. He is currently working on developing fresh ideas and sharpening his skills in becoming a better carver.
